CCS Announces Six Finalists For Superintendent

The Columbus Board of Education  has narrowed the search for a new superintendent to a list of six candidates, including current acting superintendent John Stanford.

Following a closed-door executive session, the CCS board announced the six finalists for superintendent, recommended by the private search firm BWP.  They include:

John Stanford, current acting superintendent;

Talisa Dixon, a former CAHS principal and current Cleveland Height-University Heights Schools superintendent;

L. Scott Inskeep, superintendent of Kettering School District in suburban Dayton, and former superintendent of the Reading School District outside of Cincinnati;

Jayson Strickland, deputy superintendent of the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools;

Terry Dade, an assistant superintendent in the Fairfax County Public Schools district in Virginia;

and Ava Tasker-Mitchell, an elementary instructional director with Prince Georges County Maryland Public Schools, outside of Washington D.C.

The board will meet again September 5th to further narrow the list and begin scheduling interviews. Former CCS superintendent Dan Good announced his decsion to leave the district over a year ago. Stanford took over as acting Superintendent in January, 2018. 

A native of Chicago, naturalized citizen of Cincinnati and resident of Columbus, Alison attended Earlham College and the Ohio State University. She has equal passion for Midwest history, hockey and Slavic poetry.
