The Champaign County teen convicted last week of killing his father's girlfriend was sentenced Tuesday to 28-years to life in prison.
16-year-old Donovan Nicholas was convicted of killing 40-year-old Heidi Taylor at the family's home in April of last year. Nicholas blamed the slaying on an alternate personality. An appeal is planned.
