The City of Columbus has added the south side to its Violent Crime Review group, which sends sends public resources into neighborhoods following a homicide.
The group started earlier this year in Linden, and was expanded into the Hilltop, all of which had high homicide rates last year. The group meets monthly to discuss past cases and look for common threads. So far, the group has responded to eight homicides, visiting 155 homes and identifying 30 vacant properties within 5 square miles of the crime, according to a city hall press release.
