City Council Approves Raises For Elected Officials

Columbus City Council Monday approved a pay raise for all elected city officials.

The raise will take effect in 2022, along with cost-of-living adjustments. Sponsoring Council member Emmanuel Remy says the increases come from recommendations made by a commission authorized by voters in 2014.
Council members will get a 17 thousand dollar raise, while the council president will get a 20 thousand dollar raise. The mayor’s pay will also increase, with additional cost-of-living adjustments in 2020 and 2021.
