Clippers Win Governors' Cup: Play For Triple-A Title Tuesday

mlb.com

Pitcher Mike Clevinger tossed 7-and-two-thirds shutout innings and Adam Moore had three hits to lead the Columbus Clippers over host Indianapolis 3-0 last night to win the best-of-five Governors' Cup Championship series three games to two. The victory gives the Clippers their 10th Governors’ Cup in franchise history, equaling the Rochester Red Wings for the most in International League history. The Clippers will face the winner of the Pacific Coast League championship series between Fresno and Round Rock on Tuesday in the Triple-A National Championship game in El Paso, Texas. The Clippers won the championship in 2010 and 2011.  The game marked Clevinger's second playoff win of the season. Earlier this week, he beat Norfolk in the clinching game of that series.
