Franklin County Commissioners this week voted to back 12 million dollars in bonds for the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, to fund the second phase of redevelopment of the former Poindexter Village site on the Near East Side. The agency must repay the bonds, which are part of a larger financing package. 16 buildings with residential and commercial space will be constructed during phase two. CMHA hopes to eventually construct 87 buildings that contain what it calls mixed-income residential units.
