County Judges Shy Away From Anthony Case

fccourts.org

All 17 Franklin County common pleas judges have stepped away from hearing the case against former county Board of Elections director Bill Anthony. He resigned after being indicted on charges of theft and tampering with evidence. The judges are asking the Ohio Supreme Court to appoint a visiting judge. Anthony, who is also the former director of the county Democratic Party, has called the indictment "bogus," suggesting it was a political ploy by the state's Republican auditor who investigated. A spokesperson for Ohio Auditor and former Delaware County Prosecutor David Yost says it's not about politics.
