The man who supplied primarly undocumented workers from Guatemala to central Ohio egg farms has pleaded guilty to a labor trafficking charge.
Sentencing is pending for 50-year-old Pablo Ramirez on one count of encouraging the illegal entry of Guatemalan nationals for financial gain. Ramirez admitted his company, Haba Corporate Services, provided contract labor for Trillium Farms, despite knowing the workers involved were in the country illegally. They were forced to work long hours in filthy conditions in Marion County. Trillium says it was unaware of the problem. Trillium also has operations in Licking County.
