Federal Court Rejects Request For Delay In Appeal Of Challenge Of Transgender Restroom Rule

cbsnews.com

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati has denied a request by the Highland Local School District in Morrow County to stop a transgender child from using the restroom of her choice while district officials appeal an earlier ruling in the student's favor. The court says the 11-year-old biological male who identifies as female may continue using a girls' restroom. The district is challenging an order by the Obama administration to allow restroom choice for transgender students, arguing it jeopardizes students' privacy rights. The district asked the 6th Circuit court to put on hold a lower court ruling.
