A former Ohio Highway Patrol post commander has been sentenced to 30 days in prison and 3 years community control after being found guilty of theft in office.
48-year-old William Elschlager also must serve 200 hours community service and pay a one thousand dollar fine. He was indicted after two guns were found in his Marietta home during a search related to another investigation. The guns were stored as evidence when Elschlager worked for the patrol's Delaware County post.
