Four Ohio public four-year universities are getting grant money to help low-income students who are in danger of dropping out due to financial problems. The University of Akron, Cleveland State, Ohio State and the University of Toledo are getting the money through the Dash Emergency Grant Program, funded by the nonprofit group called Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation & Affiliates. University of Akron vice president Ron Bowman says students will have to fill out an application detailing their financial emergency.
Bowman says if the application is approved, the student's expenses will be paid within two business days.
