The Franklin County Coroner's office is reporting a surge in overdose deaths this week.
Data released yesterday shows five deaths related to overdoses of fentanyl in less than 24-hours between Monday and Tuesday. The five deaths are the most since the coroner reported seven deaths in a similar period last October. Authorities with Franklin County Public Health urge family and friends of those with drug problems to contact them for free naloxone and training on how to administer it in an emergency.
