The State Controlling Board has approved 37 applications for "innovation" grants from nearly 200 schools and educational entities.
The grants totaling 144.6 million dollars were recommended by the "Straight A" Governing Board for fiscal year 2015 to promote innovative local ideas and programs that will modernize Ohio's education system. Among the winners - Columbus City Schools for expansion of a program at South High School that helps keep students on track to graduate, Dublin City Schools for a program that help kids explore different careers and a multi-district grant that includes Westerville and South-Western City Schools for districts to move from print to digital classroom materials.
