Gubernatorial Candidate Likely Won't Be On Ballot

myclevelandclinic.org

A late entrant into the gubernatorial race has fallen short of collecting the required number of petition signatures to make the May primary ballot.

911 of the 2,173 signatures Democrat Jon Heavey gathered were valid. That's short of the 1,000 needed to qualify. Heavey is a Cleveland physician and venture capitalist who filed to run on the February 7 deadline. He's spent 1.5 million dollars of his own money on a campaign he says was sparked by anger and frustration over Republican President Trump.
