Health Officials Report Columbus' First West Nile Virus Case

Columbus Public Health officials have reported the city's first case of West Nile Virus. Officials Friday said a 71-year-old local man has been hospitalized for treatment. Last month, a 54-year-old Franklin County man was reported to have contracted the virus. This marks the state's 13 case of West Nile this year. One person has died. Health officials continue to urge residents to rid their homes of the standing water that serves as a breeding ground for disease-carrying mosquitos.
