Judge: Fired CCS Principal May Not Be Reinstated

Columbus City Schools

A Franklin County judge has ruled a former Columbus City Schools principal fired for her role in the district's attendance data scandal may not get her job back. The judge ruled the district had sufficient evidence and the right to fire former Linden-McKinley High School principal Tiffany Chavers. The district said she falsified attendance figures and changed grades from Fs to Ds in a bid to help them graduate. Chavers had appealed, saying her boss, Michael Dodds, ordered the changes. Dodds was sentenced yesterday to 14 days in jail.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
