Levy For Marion County Children Services Will Appear On Fall Ballot

marionkids.com

Marion County Children Servicesmanagers are asking voters to approve a new levy this November to help battle the opioid crisis.

They say parents addicted to opioids are why children are removed from local homes and placed in the overburdened foster care system. The department has seen its caseloads increase by an average of 95 percent a year since 2014.  Officials say the 1.5-mill, ten year levy will generate 3 million dollars annually.
