Longaberger Owes Licking County Thousands In Property Taxes

wikipedia

The Newark-Based Longaberger basket company owes nearly 578 thousand dollars in property taxes on its headquarters, according to the Licking County Treasurer's office. Officials say the company hasn't paid taxes on the building since November 2014. Treasurer Olivia Parkinson says foreclosure has been considered, but county officials prefer to work out a solution. The building will be vacant by the end of the week, as the firm consolidates employees to its Muskingum County campus.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
