Man Charged In Columbus House Explosion

Columbus Division of Fire
Marcus Lorenzo Taylor

Columbus authorities have made an arrest in last week's house explosion that injured two people. 34-year-old Marcus Taylor has been charged with aggravated arson.

Fire investigators determined the explosion in the 400 block of North 20th Street occurred due to a broken natural gas pipe in the home's basement. Taylor told authorities he attempted to remove the pipes in order to sell them. Fire officials are still investigating the source of the heat or flame that initiated the explosion.
