Marion County Grand Jury Declines To Indict Officers Who Shot Domestic Violence Suspect

A Marion County grand jury has declined to indict two law enforcement officers involved in the shooting of a domestic violence suspect in early July.

Jurors ruled officer Joe McDonald and county sheriff's deputy Christy Utley acted within policy in shooting 33-year-old Matthew Lust. Authorities say Lust shot his wife at their home after being treated for suicidal tendencies, then exchanged gunfire with officers. Lust faces attempted murder, felonious assault and weapons charges.
