Memorial Day Holiday Traffic Fatality Figures Released

WCBE Files

The Ohio Highway Patrol says fifteen people were killed in crashes over the Memorial Day holiday period.

That's up from eleven in 2016, and up from fourteen last year. Two of the victims were not wearing seat belts. Two others died in cases of impaired driving. Troopers made 787 OVI arrests and issued more than 82 hundred seat-belt citations.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
