Three officials in the central Ohio village of New Holland are facing criminal charges, and the officer who filed those charges has been fired.
Police Sergeant Brad Mick was fired Monday, after filing charges against Mayor Butch Betzko, interim police chief David Conrad and former chief Jason Lawless. They face forgery, complictity and dereliction of duty charges respectively. Village officials say Mick was pursuing a personal agenda. Mick denies that. Those charged have denied any wrongdoing. What led to the charges being filed has not been disclosed.
