ODE Subpoenas Records In CCS Data Scandal Probe

wcbe files

Officials with the Ohio Department of Education have subpoenaed the records of former Columbus City Schools Superintendent Gene Harris and 60 current and former district officials as part of an investigation of the district's attendance data rigging scandal. The records include Harris' disciplinary file, investigative records, emails and other documents. Harris has publicly denied having any link to changing student-attendance records to improve the district's report card. State Auditor David Yost says district officials told Harris about the problem. The administrators have been offered the chance to voluntarily give up their teaching licenses.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
