Ohio Sees Slight Increase In Joblessness

Ohio's unemployment rate was 4.5 percent in June, up two-tenths of a point from May. 

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Servicessays non-farm payrolls increased by 79 hundred last month to more than 5.6 million. The department says 259 thousand Ohioans were out of work in June, up 9 thousand from May. Ohio added jobs in the manufacturing, leisure and hospitality and business services sectors. Ohio lost jobs the in construction, utilities and health, and educational service sectors. The national jobless rate for June is 4 percent.
