OHP: Excessive Speed Caused Crash That Killed Bloom-Carroll H.S. Student

everipedia.org

The Ohio Highway Patrol says a Bloom-Carroll high school student charged in the traffic-crash death of her classmate was driving more than 90 miles-per-hour when the accident happened last month.

16-year-old Katie Jumper faces multiple delinquency counts in the March death of 15-year-old Leah Jackson. Troopers say excessive speed caused Jumper to veer off of Plum Road near Havensport Road and hit a tree. Troopers say drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
