Rat Problem Spreads To Worthington

Columbus Public Health officials say the local rat problem is growing. Nearly two-dozen Worthington homes are infested or suspected of being infested. The affected residents say the rats moved to their city from nearby Clintonville, and they blame poor conditions there. The health department says there is no evidence supporting those claims. The health department has been combating rats in Columbus and several neighborhoods, including Clintonville. The city set aside 150 thousand dollars this year for control efforts, including the hiring of a second inspector and supervisor.
