Report: Court Rejects A&F's Appeal In Head Scarf Case

dailymail.co.uk

Reuters reports a federal appeals court has dismissed the appeal by New Albany-based Abercrombie & Fitch of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month that said the controversial retailer may have violated federal civil-rights law. The dismissal by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals means the company will pay 25 thousand dollars to an Oklahoma woman who was rejected for a job because she wore a Muslim head scarf. Samantha Elauf was rejected for a job in 2008.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
