Rock Hall To Host Weekend Event Celebrating Rush

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will celebrate the band Rush with special events on Saturday at the museum in Cleveland.

Guitarist Alex Lifeson will host an interview with bassist and front man Geddy Lee, and then Lee will take part in a book signing. Both sessions are sold out, but the interview will be streamed on the Rock Hall's Facebook page starting at noon with fans encouraged to submit their own questions. Lee's new book entitled "Big Beautiful Book of Bass" features more than 400 pages and documents the history of the instrument and Lee's own collection. Lee recently spoke to the Canadian Press about his reason for writing the book.

The book contains hundreds of colorful, detailed pictures and features Lee's own interviews with several legendary bass players, including Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones, original Rolling Stones member Bill Wyman, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, and Les Claypool. For all visitors to the museum on Saturday, there will be a special exhibit showcasing some of Lee's guitars and the stories behind them. Footage of Rush's 2013 induction ceremony will also be shown throughout the day in the museum's  theater. Rush got noticed in the U.S. in the 1970's after their music was played on Cleveland rock station WMMS.
