Security Concerns Prompt Town Hall Organizers To Disinvite County Prosecutor

African-American Columbus residents who organized a town hall meeting tonight have rescinded their invitation asking Republican Franklin County prosecutor Ron O'Brien to attend. Organizers cite security concerns stemming from likely protests of recent Columbus police shootings. Protestors want independent probes of the deaths of Henry Green and Tyre King, saying O'Brien cannot conduct them due to his relationships with police. Members of the local NAACP chapter are also backing out of the forum for the same reason. O'Brien is running for re-election against Democratic Columbus City Council president Zach Klein.
