State Lawmakers Begin Debating CCS Bill

Debate began Thursday in the Ohio House about a measure making changes to the Columbus City Schools. Lawmakers began discussing plans to create an independent auditor and plans for the district to share property taxes with charter schools. Sticking points in the bill are whether the charters would siphon money from the district and whether they'd be subject to audits. The full House could vote on the measure as early as Tuesday.
