Thanksgiving Day Programming 2015

Happy Thanksgiving! Be sure to get a heapin' helping of satisfying NPR programming this Thursday on 90.5FM!
9am: Science Of Gratitude - The Science of Gratitude is a one hour documentary focusing on the latest information regarding the power (or lack of it) of being thankful.  We hear research, expert opinion, and individual stories to illustrate how gratitude often has a large impact on overall happiness.  The program covers gratitude in the workplace, in relationships, in health, in child-rearing, etc.  It is hosted by Academy Award winning actress, Susan Sarandon. 

10am: With Good Reason: My Life As A Wild Turkey - World-renowned naturalist Joe Hutto, subject of the Emmy winning BBC documentary "My Life As a Turkey", discusses the complexity and richness of being he finds in wild turkeys and other creatures.  Plus: A pilot describes the ninja-like moves of the wild turkey—mid-air. 

11am: Dinner Party Download All-Food Special - This week: just in time for a week of feasting, it's our special All-Food Show! Chefs Gabrielle Hamilton and Dan Barber turn food afterthoughts into fine dining. Questlove and Conor Oberst play dinnertime DJ. Eddie Huang, of "Fresh off the Boat" fame, addresses dos and don'ts about donuts... And more!

12pm-2pm: Turkey Confidential - Help is on the way for Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers and dinner guests on this, the biggest cooking day of the year. Lynne Rossetto Kasper will be available to answer listener questions throughout the live, two-hour program. Joining Lynne for the broadcast this year will be: James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, writer and teacher Andrew Zimmern; StoryCorps founder Dave Isay; internationally renowned chef, author and TV host Jacques Pépin; and food enthusiast, TV personality, and journalist Nigella Lawson. 

2pm: Awesome Holiday Etiquette - Awesome Holiday Etiquette is an entertaining way to learn how you can take some of the stress out of being social during the Holidays. Hosts Lizzie Post and Dan Post Senning - the great-great-grandchildren of etiquette icon Emily Post - will talk with friends and special guests about etiquette throughout the season - from food to decorating to social situations. They will answer etiquette questions from listeners, and invite storytellers to tell the tales of their biggest Holiday wins (or fails).
