Weather Creates Homeless Shelter Overflows

The fight over a proposed winter shelter for the homeless in Franklin Township is forcing other shelters to fill beyond capacity.Agencies providing shelter say they were stretched to their limit last night, with people sleeping in chairs and mats on the floors. Complaints about putting the proposed shelter next to a daycare center, as well as code problems, have hindered the opening of the Community Shelter Board's 190-bed overflow facility.
