Wright State Under Investigation For Possible Lobbying Violations

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is investigating whether Wright State University in Dayton and its consultant violated lobbying laws when the school paid him nearly 2 million dollars without prior approval from the state Controlling Board.

Ohio law mandates public universities get board approval for lobbying contracts exceeding 50 thousand dollars in a calendar year. Wright State officials say consultant Ron Wine, of Dayton-based Ron Wine Consulting Group, is not operating as a lobbyist.
