The Ohio Supreme Court is Ohio’s highest and the state’s court of last resort. This seven-member body – comprised of one Chief Justice and six Justices – decide Ohio’s most difficult, most complicated, and most contentious legal cases. Since 1803, the Court has provided leadership for Ohio’s Judicial Branch and serves as the catalyst for the strategic direction of Ohio’s entire justice system. The Columbus-based Court receives appeals from 12 district courts of appeals and is tasked with upholding the highest standards of impartiality and fairness.
