Join us in celebrating a great tradition that champions new voices and cross-cultural exchange. Since 1995, the Greater Columbus Arts Council and State of Saxony have sponsored artists to travel to their respective Sister City (either Dresden, Germany or Columbus) for a residency for up to three months. The time and modest financial support afford the selected artists a freedom to focus on research and art production. Several Hammond Harkins artists have received the distinction and are gathered together for the first time to commemorate their achievement. Seven of them travelled to Dresden, and one from Dresden received the award to come to Columbus. Then there are others who simply have a “Dresden connection.”
Stop in and discover a breadth of talent and see how art flourishes when one honors the vocation of the artist.
Gallery hours: Tue - Sat 11 AM - 5 PM Sun 1 PM - 5 PM Closed Monday.

Join us on the Thurber House lawn for a Summer Literary Picnic featuring reporter turned freelance writer Andrew Welsh-Huggins, the award-nominated author of the Andy Hayes Private Eye series and the editor of Columbus Noir. His new standalone crime novel, The End of the Road, loosely uses the framework of Homer's Odyssey to tell the story of a young woman's journey of revenge after her boyfriend is shot and left for dead.

As one DJ puts it, Rebecca Loebe “has an almost supernatural ability to get the crowd singing along.” Over the past decade, the Austin-based singer-songwriter has taken her fans along for the ride, touring nonstop across the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe, and the UK. If you love lyric driven, full-throated modern troubadours like Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, and Phoebe Bridgers, then Rebecca Loebe is a must-listen.
After she performed her own arrangement of Nirvana's 'Come As You Are' on the first season of NBC’s The Voice, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera fought for the chance to work with her. Adam professed, “I just love listening to you sing.” Loebe's original songs have also earned recognition from critics, fans, and songwriting competitions around the world.
When she’s not on tour, you can find her snuggling her puppy Lola, watering her vegetable garden, curled up with a good book, or in her home studio where she recently recorded an acoustic covers album called Secondhand Songs, which is available for free on her website.
For the rest of the year she'll be performing a limited number of shows across the US, Europe, and the UK on The Back 40 Tour - a celebration of growing up with your heart on your sleeve. Each show will feature a unique setlist comprised of award-winning original songs, surprising covers, quirky humor, and engrossing stories about a life on the road.
