State Lawmaker Discusses "Triple Flipper" Status

In 1992, Ohio voters put term limits into the state constitution for state legislators. The provision says - no one can serve more than 8 straight years in the Ohio Senate or House. Still, there’s nothing stopping lawmakers from hopping back and forth between the chambers, as long as their local voters elect them. And that leads us to State Representative Randy Gardner. His election to an Ohio Senate seat this week has earned him the self-proclaimed title of Ohio’s first “Triple Flipper.” He explains in this interview with statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen.

That's Randy Gardner, a republican state legislator from Bowling Green. Despite term limits for lawmakers in the Ohio Constitution, his career as a legislator stretches over parts of 4 decades.
