Columbus police say a man who attempted to rob a man entering a bank at Morse and Karl Roads Wednesday was shot by an off-duty officer. A special-duty officer hired by the bank and an off-duty officer were inside when they were alerted to the attempted robbery. The unnamed suspect is hospitalized in stable condition. Police say the man is also suspected in three similar robberies in the area.
