Ohio AG Offers Tips In Wake Of Heartbleed Bug

The state's attorney general is offering tips for Ohioans to protect their personal information following a major breakdown in Internet security revealed earlier this month.

The so-called "Heartbleed" security problem has put millions of passwords, credit card numbers and other personal information at risk. The extent of the damage caused by the breakdown is unknown. The security hole exists on a vast number of the Internet's Web servers and went undetected for more than two years. Attorney General Mike DeWine is urging consumers to update passwords to their online accounts - including those for banking, shopping, email and social media. Residents who suspect that they are victims of a scam or identity theft can contact his office at 800-282-0515.
