Ginther Garners Coleman's Endorsement In Mayoral Race

WCBE Files

Democratic Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman has endorsed Columbus City Council President Andy Ginther's Mayoral bid.

Appearing together this morning at the Lincoln Theater, Coleman called Ginther "a man of integrity".  Ginther, who sat on the Columbus City Schools board before being elected to city council in 2007, could face a tough primary fight in the spring.  Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott has also announced his intention to run as a Democrat, and there are reports that state representative Kevin Boyce is also considering a bid.  So far, no Republicans have formally entered the race.  Coleman is stepping down at the end of 2015, after 16 years as mayor.
