The Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has filed an employment discrimination complaint over the Columbus police policy banning officers from wearing headscarves for religious reasons.  The complaint filed with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission says the  ban discriminates against Muslim women who want to join the force. The complaint also says the ban violates state law requiring employers to provide reasonable accommodation for the religious beliefs of employees and prospective employees. City officials have yet to comment.
