The so-called "right to work" bill banning employers from requiring workers to pay dues to unions has now been introduced in the state legislature. Republican State Representative Tom Brinkman is the sponsor. He talks about it with Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler.
Public employee unions were included in Senate Bill 5, the law that was rejected overwhelmingly by voters in 2011. Brinkman says he did not speak with House leadership about the bill and does not know whether his Republican colleagues will support it. But Republican Ohio Governor and presidential candidate John Kasich has said he thinks the measure is not needed.
