Columbus Division of Police

One of two people charged in connection with the shooting death of a Columbus handyman during a failed robbery attempt will serve life in prison. 19-year-old Jafet Medrano has pleaded guilty to killing 49-year-old William Keen at a Prairie Township home in 2014. The other defendant, 20-year-old Bryan Mathews, is scheduled for trial in mid-April.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
