Independent Candidate Now In U.S. Senate Race

scottrupert.com

An independent candidate has entered the U.S. Senate race between Republican incumbent Rob Portman and Democratic challenger Ted Strickland. 52-year-old Truck driver Scott Rupert of Mechanicsburg has submitted enought valid petition signatures to qualify for the ballot. Rupert also ran as an independent in 2012, receiving 4.6 percent of the vote. Incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown defeated Republican challenger and current State Treasurer Josh Mandel in that race.
