Elections Board Extends Anthony's Leave By Two Weeks

The Franklin County Board of Elections has extended the paid leave of director William Anthony until August 15, following his indictment last month on tampering with records and theft in office charges. Board members say the move allows Anthony to resign. Anthony and former fiscal officer Brenna Umbstaetter both were indicted in a case involving bogus time sheets. Umbstaetter resigned last year.  Anthony is also the former chair of the Franklin County Democratic Party.
