Sandusky County Sheriff Indicted On Drug Charges

Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmyer has been indicted on 43 counts involving drugs. The state and federal goverments have been investigating Overmyer since September 2015 when police chiefs in the county expressed concerns about prescription drug disposal drop box collections. Investigators say Overmyer took medications from the drop boxes, deceived physicians and pharmacists in order to obtain prescription drugs, misused department money and tampered with records. Arraignment is scheduled for later today. A special prosecutor is working with Overmyer's attorney to negotiate his surrender.
