Trustees in Delaware County's Liberty Township have named 50-year-old Tom O'Brien as the township fire chief, following the demotion of the former chief. O'Brien is currently the Newark assistant fire chief. He will replace Tim Jensen, who was demoted last September in a dispute with trustees over his management style. He later sued, the result of which forced the township to keep him on the payroll.
