Backers Of 2015 Marijuana Ballot Issue Propose Growing Operation In Wilimington

Ohio Public Radio

The backers of the failed 2015 state ballot measure to legalize medical and recreational marijuana are now proposing to build a large growing and manufacturing facility in Wilmington. The plan is contingent on the backers getting one of the licenses under Ohio's new medical marijuana program, which is expected to begin next year. Those behind the proposal include Jimmy Gould and Ian James, who ran the 2015 ResponsibleOhio marijuana legalization effort. Gould says the operation would employ 220 people.
