Columbus School Board Member To Run For Ohio House

Columbus school board member Michael Cole says he plans to run for the Ohio House seat currently held by fellow Democrat Hearcel Craig, who is running for the Ohio Senate. Two of Cole's opponents in last November's election say it shows he lacks the commitment to serve the voters who elected him. Amy Harkins and Abby Vaile say local politicians often use the school board or Columbus City Council as a springboard to other offices. Harkins and Vaile are members of the Yes We Can coalition of local Democrats fighting for change in county party operations. On Tuesday, board members elected Cole as their vice-president.
