The stretch of I-71 southbound through downtown to westbound I-70 is open again after Ohio Department of Transportation crews ended their repaving ahead of schedule last night.

ODOT officials say the project, which is part of nearly 41-million dollars worth of improvements to downtown interstates, was originally expected to be completed this morning. The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission say an average of 135 thousand vehicles travel through the downtown split every day.
