Columbus Safety Director Ned Pettus says police officials failed to prove their charges against Lieutenant Melissa McFadden, who is suing the city.
Police chief Kim Jacobs recommended McFadden be fired last May, claiming she created a hostile work environment and violated federal employment laws. Pettus has declined to uphold the recommendation. McFadden remains on desk duty.
